The RISE Schools Admissions and Enrollment
Thank you for interesting in joining the RISE Schools family. The RISE Schools is a free public charter network consisting of RISE Grammar School, serving grades Kindergarten through 5th grade, and RISE Prep School, serving grades 6, 7, and 8.
Open enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year will begin at 12:00 am on January 1, 2023. Please click HERE to complete an application. If at the end of open enrollment, we receive more applications than available seats, then we will hold a lottery.
**When filling out the Enrollment Application, use GoogleChrome on a laptop or desktop computer for the smoothest submission process. The application can NOT be completed on a cell phone.**
There are 88 seats in each grade level at RISE Grammar and 96 seats in each grade level at RISE Prep. For those entering RISE Grammar in Kindergarten, RISE Prep in the 6th grade, we will fill 88 seats and 96 seats respectively every year. For RISE Grammar grades 1st - 5th and RISE Prep grades 7th and 8th, the number of available seats will be determined upon calculation of our completed recommitment numbers for our currently enrolled scholars. If we receive more applications than the number of seats available, a lottery will be held in accordance with the process described above. For new applicants, the rank order for admission is established through the lottery system. When the numbers of available seats for grades 1st - 5th and grade 7th and 8th are available, those numbers will be posted.
Siblings of already enrolled scholars are given priority seating; however, you must complete an application for the incoming sibling(s) when the application portal opens on January 1, 2022. Please make sure that you check the box that confirms that the applicant is a sibling and enter the currently attending sibling’s information.
After the lottery has concluded, it will be very important for you to keep the appointment date and time that you are given to ensure your scholar is fully enrolled. The enrollment process does not take much time. However, for families that are offered a seat, you will have three (3) business days to accept your seat, complete your enrollment and confirm your attendance. If you do not accept your seat, complete your enrollment and confirm your attendance within 3 days, your offer will be forfeited and offered to the next person in line on the waitlist.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the commonly asked questions that we get at regarding admissions and enrollment.
When is the open enrollment period for The RISE Schools?
January 1st through January 31st each year, for admission for the following August.
Is there a lottery?
Yes. The lottery is held in February if the number of applications received exceeds the number of available seats, which is usually the case.
Who is included in the lottery?
Applicants that apply during open enrollment in January. Anyone that applies after that is added to the waitlist by date and time of application.
If my child is not admitted, do I need to reapply each year?
Yes. Waitlists do not carry over from year to year so you would need to re-apply in January.
How much is the tuition here?
The RISE Schools are public schools, so there is NO tuition!
Do the students have to wear uniforms?
Yes. At the RISE Schools, we recognize that there is a strong, positive correlation between appropriate attire, good work habits, and good character. When dress and appearance are characterized by cleanliness, neatness, modesty, and safety, children generally have a more positive attitude toward themselves and those around them. The RISE Schools believe that the dress code and/or uniform policy support a more productive learning environment.
As a Parent, am I required to volunteer?
How can I get involved? Families are encouraged to be fully invested in their scholars’ learning environment through volunteering. As such, we ask that each family volunteer a minimum of 10 hours per school year.
Does the RISE school calendar follow the Fulton County Schools Calendar?
Not exactly. For the most part the RISE calendar does align with Fulton County; however, there are some exceptions. To view our calendar, please visit the calendar page on our website.
What transportation options does RISE have; do you offer bus service?
Yes. RISE has five (5) buses that are shared between both schools. Each bus has its own route with convenient pick- up and drop-off locations. Families will be responsible for getting their scholar to and collecting their scholars from the pick-up and drop-off locations. Spaces are limited and the number of available seats on each bus will be determined upon calculation of our completed recommitment numbers for our currently enrolled scholars using the service. For families interested in riding the bus they must submit an application. Seats on the bus on the buses will be filled based on the order that the application is received.
